Electrical engineer Chris Wong will oversee the new Chambersburg branch for Paragon Engineering Services.

Citing growing demand for its services west of York and Adams counties and into Maryland, Paragon Engineering Services Inc. has added a new office in Franklin County.

The Spring Garden Township-based firm, which specializes in mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering services, has opened a branch at 550 Cleveland Ave. in Chambersburg.

Chris Wong, an electrical engineer with more than 10 years of experience, has been named branch manager for the new location.

Paragon's business development manager, Christina McCullough, said the company has seen its workload increase in the industrial, retail distribution and medical markets, so it needs to get bigger. Commercial and senior-care projects also are on the rise.

McCullough said the firm's hopes to hire a second full-time employee in Chambersburg by the end of the year. Paragon also plans to add a new employee in the coming months at its Lancaster branch.

Paragon Engineering Services has 25 employees in its home office. The firm also has an office in Bel Air, Maryland, and it is eyeing future growth in the Williamsport region.

The firm finished 2018 with $3.5 million in revenue, according to Business Journal records.
