Paragon designed all of the process piping systems; Argon, Compressed Air, Helium, Hydraulic, Nitrogen, Vacuum and a multitude of water, gas and drain piping circuits to support furnace operation. Due to demand a new furnace was constructed to met 8500 metric tons of titanium metal per year. In addition, we designed the building HVAC, Plumbing, Dust Collection & Ventilation systems to serve the furnace bay, control room, lunch room and locker room.
MEP design for 75,000 sq. ft. addition to the existing pretzel production building including 12,500 sq. ft. office area, expanded production area, new packaging area, and new warehouse area. HVAC included multiple zone bypass variable volume roof top units, rooftop gas makeup air heating units, and general ventilation fans. Electrical systems to include the evaluation of the existing electrical loading of the building, primary switch addition to existing exterior switchgear, primary service entrance to the plant, primary and secondary main switchgear, power distribution to include 480/277V distribution panels with associated step-down transformers and 208/120V distribution panels, relocated scales, new SBT Tank, interior lighting, exterior lighting for new parking areas, new dock area, and basketball court; and accommodations for telephone, data, fire, and security systems by owner.
MEP design for 15,000 sq. ft. renovations including new production areas, equipment rooms, utility upgrades, gas fired active desiccant dehumidification HVAC systems with chilled water cooling and integration to BMS controls and process piping to equipment extended from existing systems. Interior lighting design included high bay and enclosed and gasket type LED light fixtures for the process areas with battery powered emergency and exit lighting as required for life safety. Electrical power distribution design included 480 volt - 3 phase power feeders from an existing Substation to feed for new 600Amp - 480volt - 3Phase power panels with step-down transformers to feed 120/280volt - 3phase panels. An exterior chemical storage facility was provided with a NEMA-3R exterior grade distribution panel with an emergency shut-down to feed explosion-proof lighting and equipment with code required conduit and equipment connections. Existing fire alarm system was revised as required by the renovations with new initiating and signaling devices provided as required by code.
These are all new industrial laundry facilities for Cintas the uniform people. Each building is approximately 56,400 sq. ft. The electrical component of this project consists of a 2500 amp, 480/277 volt, 3 phase service to an integrated switchboard containing panels, transformers and owner metering. Electrical design includes all lighting, site lighting with point-by-point calculations, power distribution, fire alarm, security and power to process equipment. The mechanical and plumbing design includes HVAC for offices, and sorting areas, general ventilation, heating, and process mechanical for the laundry areas.
Paragon provided MEP engineering services for a new, 156,700 sq. ft. manufacturing plant. The project also included 25,000 aq. ft. of office space. The HVAC design included duel-temperature piping with a central coiler and chiller for dehumidification and heating of the plant. The plumbing design included compressed air, trench drains and large submersion tanks for testing coils.
The project consisted of mechanical and electrical engineering services for a 5,000 sq. ft. multi-use student center with a 1,000 sq. ft. loft, warming kitchen, green room, and restrooms. HVAC systems included a combination of grade-mounted packaged rooftop units and split systems with DX cooling and gas heat. Plumbing design included domestic water and sanitary & vent distribution to plumbing fixtures and equipment in restroom and kitchen areas. Electrical design included new LED lighting, voice, data/telecom, sound systems, power for all new equipment, and new 400 amp sub panel connected to the existing main campus 3,000 amp 120/208 volt, 3 phase electrical service.

The project consisted of replacement of the existing two-pipe HVAC system including associated piping, heat exchanger and pumps serving Buchanan Hall and Marshall Hall. The HVAC renovations included new equipment in approximately 160 dorm rooms. The project also included linking to the campus building automation system for controls. The electrical scope included power for the HVAC replacement.

The MEP design consisted of a variable refrigerant system (VRV) heat pump system with energy recovery ventilators and rooftop units for the gymnasium, a new 1200 amp, 277/480 colt, 3 phase electrical service, new high efficiency lighting and automatic lighting control, power circuits for receptacles and equipment, plus plumbing upgrades including new low flow fixtures, a full service kitchen, and new sanitary piping.

This project involved conversion of 112,000 sq. ft. of existing wood structure to maximize available ceiling height and provide a clean appearance where the structure was exposed. The project was designed to be constructed in phases. Split system heat pumps were used to provide heating and cooling in the condos. Electric storage water heaters were used for domestic hot water. A new 3000 amp, 12/480 volt, 3 phase service was installed to feed both house loads an apartment loads. Each apartment was metered separately with a power company meter in 2 large meter centers strategically located in the building. One meter center fed 24 apartments and of fed 42 apartments. Power was also supplied for a fire pump and multiple elevators. Emergency lighting was supplied by a battery-operated system. A fire alarm system covering both common areas and apartments was supplied. Each apartment has receptacles located per code.

Design included battery emergency lighting, fire alarm, phone / data outlet systems and power for receptacles and owner supplied equipment.
MEP design and BIM modeling services for a new 67,000 sq. ft., two-story multi-tenant medical center including an outpatient surgical center with four DOH regulated class C operating rooms, recovery and related support areas plus an imaging center with MRI, exam rooms, therapy rooms, commercial kitchen and office areas. HVAS design included low temp desiccant split system dehumidification systems with electric reheat VAV terminal units, electric steam humidifiers, and HEPA diffusers for operating suite, gas-electric VAV rooftop units with electric heat VAV for other areas. Plumbing design included low flow fixtures, high efficiency condensing gas water heaters, dual temperature domestic hot water distribution and recirculation, water treatment, medical air, oxygen, nitrogen, nitrous oxide, and vacuum systems to the operating and recovery rooms with related pumps, tanks, compressors, valves, and alarm panels. Building automation included HVAC control and monitoring plus integration with lighting controls, emergency generator, utility sub-meters, MRI emergency cooling and monitoring, medicine refrigerator monitoring. Lighting design included LED fixtures and automatic lighting control to meet DOH requirements and selected loads to maintain operation of the urgent care center, doctor office and MRI. The main electrical service included embedded metering for generator load test, HVAC interface, and tenant billing.

Renovation of 4,000 square feet of the west wing in the Transitions Healthcare facility. Converted four single occupancy rooms to six long term care suites with individual showers to meet nursing care requirements. LED lighting replacement and new nurse’s call system was included.
Complete renovation of a five-story 134,000 sq. ft. facility which included the replacement of fire alarm systems, generator systems, heating water and internal plumbing. The fire alarm system replacement for this complex included the main building, connection corridor and tunnels, hospital building, laundry building, dietary building, and plant operations building. Indoor emergency generator and automatic transfer switches were installed in the new generator building to handle full electrical loads. The domestic water, sanitary and hot water systems were replaced while the buildings were in service. This project required multi-phased construction to ensure patients were not affected during construction.

The HVAC systems consist of 8 chillers totaling 608 tons of cooling, two cooling towers, chilled and condenser water pumps, and associated distribution piping. Heat is provided by two gas-fired boilers totaling 400 MBH and associated pumps and heating water distribution piping. Fourteen air handling units provide conditioned air to the facility to meet the owner's specific temperature and humidity requirements. The preliminary electrical design consists of 4000Amp - 277/408Volt - 3Phase - 4Wire electrical service from the power company with a 4000Amp switchboard. This switchboard is utilized to feed 277/408Volt - 3Phase distribution panels with step down transformers to feed 120/208Volt - 3Phase distribution panels to be located through-out the building.

This switchboard is utilized to feed 277/480Volt - 3Phase distribution panels with step down transformers to feed 120 / 208Volt - 3Phase distribution panels to be located through-out the building. An emergency generator system was provided.
